A doctor from Bluegrass Extended Care located on Governors Lane is teaming up with a lab located in Nicholasville, Solaris Diagnostics, to conduct the first drive-thru testing in Lexington. Their hope is to test around 200 people for the coronavirus in one day.
Every person who is being tested is remaining in their car until the examination room is ready and only one person enters at a time.
Dr. Richard of Bluegrass Extended Care wants to let everyone know not every person who enters the examination room will be tested. They will be evaluated through their signs and symptoms and only those that qualify (contain symptoms) will be tested.
The clinic plans to keep doing tests until they run out of kits or until 5:30 pm or 6 pm, whichever comes first.
They plan to do another drive-thru on Wednesday, March 25 beginning at 9 am.
