Eating Out for Valentine’s Day?

Azur is serving four courses where you can order any appetizer, salad, entree, and dessert from the regular menu. This deal is available Feb 9-17. Call for dinner reservations.

Brasabana, a member of the Azur Food Group and featuring Cuban cuisine with a Caribbean flair, offers a dinner for two featuring 5-ounce bacon-wrapped beef tenderloin filets with almond-crusted sea scallops over roasted asparagus.

Distilled at Gratz Park offers a three course dinner with seatings at 5, 7, and 9 pm. Entrees include porcini dry rubbed filet, brown butter-poached halibut, roasted Berkshire pork tenderloin, or king crab capellini. Call for reservations.

Holly Hill Inn in Midway offers their annual Aphrodisiacs seven-course dinner. Entrees include prime beef loin, black cod, scallops amandine, and a fried stuffed eggplant. Call or go online for reservations.

J. Render’s offers a three course dinner for two. Choose two entrees which include soup or salad for each guest and a shared dessert.

Lockbox is celebrating Valentine’s Day between February 10 and February 14. Chef Jonathan Searle is preparing a special three course pre-fixe menu with dishes like Pan Roasted Scallops with winter squash and a Dark Chocolate Crémeux. A limited a la carte menu is also be available. Call for reservations.

Wild Thyme Cooking School is hosting a Chef’s table dinner date night, which includes a Valentine’s wine pairing and a four course dinner. The class is a demonstration style event and guests are welcome to bring their own additional wine or beverage to enjoywith the dinner.

Wild Thyme hosts hands-on cooking classes. On Feb 9 at 6:30 pm learn how to make romantic desserts like homemade creme brûlée, chocolate dipped tuxedo strawberries, and orange chocolate mousse from scratch. There will also be a Cupid’s Feast hands-on class on Feb 17 at 6:30 pm where couples make a four-course Valentine’s meal.

Spend a romantic evening in the Eastern Kentucky foothills at Carter Caves’ Valentine’s Dinner Theatre night: Feb 9 – 10 at 7 pm. The night includes a buffet style dinner, followed by a special performance of “Red Skeleton: Remembered” and overnight stay in the Lewis Caveland Lodge.

The Valentine’s Getaway at Cumberland Falls is on Feb 9 – 10. The Saturday night package includes a lodge room, dinner, and a show for two: Murder and Merriment, an interactive murder mystery dinner theatre troupe. Breakfast the next day is also included.

Midway hosts Midway Chocolate Stroll on Feb 10 at 10 am. Stroll down Midway’s Historic Main & Gratz Streets where each business will have a chocolate treat for you, as well as Valentine’s Day Specials. Have your Chocolate Stroll ticket stamped at 10 locations and drop it off at Midway Sweet Tooth Candy Store for a prize drawing. Also, stop by Equus Run Vineyards from noon to 4 pm for their Kisses & Calories Open House.

The Lexington Ballet presents My Fair Lady at the Lexington Opera House on Saturday, Feb 10 at 2 pm.

Rock House Brewing hosts a Valentine’s Day food and beer pairing event, Be(er) Mine Brunch on Feb 11 at from 11 am to 2 pm. Food will be provided by Minton’s at 760, along with coffee from Nate’s Coffee. Classic romantic comedies will play on a big screen all day, along with complimentary samplings of macarons from La Petite Délicate.

 

Valentine’s Hotel Packages

The Campbell House offers a Valentine’s Day Package: Spend the holiday with your someone special and receive deluxe overnight accommodations, champagne, a cheese tray, and chocolate covered strawberries delivered to your room. The package also includes breakfast for two in Kilbern’s restaurant the following morning and a late checkout.

Clarion Hotel offers Cupid’s Creation: Includes a meal for two in Cortland’s Restaurant plus champagne and strawberries delivered to your room for dessert. The package requires at least a three days advance booking.

Hilton Lexington/Downtown offers a Valentine’s Day special during the month February that includes complimentary sparkling wine or cider when you arrive, and breakfast for two served in your room.

Lyndon House Bed & Breakfast offers three separate Valentine’s packages. A Classic Valentine package includes a bouquet of flowers, champagne, dinner at a nearby restaurant with a $100 gift certificate. A Bistro Valentine package includes a bottle of wine from one of Kentucky’s premier vineyards and a $50 Bistro dinner card. A Simple Valentine package is about being the right partner and includes a bouquet of flowers in addition to one nights accommodations. Lyndon House also offers a Bed, Breakfast & Ballet package that includes a bouquet of flowers, champagne, and 2 tickets to the Lexington Ballet production of My Fair Lady. 

 

Valentine’s Day Desserts

Chocolate Holler is hosting a Reservation-Only plated dessert night on Valentine’s Day. Reservations include a flight of sipping chocolates, a specialty hot chocolate of choice, and an assortment of chocolatey desserts. There is only enough spots for 14 couples, sign-ups and payment are IN-SHOP ONLY. 

Midway Bakery has Valentine’s sweets available, including a Nutella stuffed chocolate cupcake with raspberry frosting.

Old Kentucky Chocolates on Southland Drive offers chocolate-dipped strawberries as well as Valentine’s novelties.

The Sweet Spot on N Broadway has supersized chocolate covered strawberries available. Order before Feb 12 for pickup on Feb 13 or 14.
