What’s opened, closed and happening in Beaumont for the Fourth of July?

Here’s a list of Fourth of July festivities and firework displays as well as openings and closings in the Beaumont area.

July 4, 2018 Events

Start your Fourth out with a running the Bluegrass 10k. The first round of runners begin at 7 am. The course weaves through the main business and historic district in downtown Lexington.

The Fourth of July Street Festival will take place from 9 am to 6 pm in Downtown Lexington with the Parade starting at 2 pm.

Where To Watch Fireworks

The Fourth of July fireworks display happens downtown from the roof of the Lexington Financial Center (“the big blue building”) on July 4 at 10 pm.

County Park in Versailles is setting off fireworks at 10 pm.

Keep in mind that pets and fireworks do not mix well. July 4th has one of the highest rates of missing pets. Don’t add your pet to that number.

The Lexington Fire Dept. has and will continue to comment about fireworks safety. Remember: If it goes up or blows up, it’s illegal in Lexington.

What’s Opened

Kroger is open on July 4.

Liquor Barn locations are open on July 4.

Drugstores like CVS and Walgreen’s are open regular hours on July 4.

What’s Closed

Banks and post offices are closed in observance of the holiday.

The Lexington Public Library Beaumont Branch is closed on July 4.

LexTran operates on an extended Sunday schedule on July 4th.

Holiday Trash Collection in Lexington

This Fourth of July holiday does not impact collections by the city’s Division of Waste Management. Collections are made as usual on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday of that week.
